    Program Description

    The Real Property Assessment Division is responsible for: (1) providing ad valorem assessments on all parcels of land within the County of Kauai's jurisdiction; (2) defending our assessed vlaues before the Board of Reveiw and the Tax Appeals Court; (3) miantaining accurate records pertaining to the transfer of title if real property; (4) administering specisl programs, including, but not limited to, the agriculture dedication and home use exemptions programs; (5) coordinating accuratre billing information with the Collections Division;and, (6) providing real property information to the general public at thier request. It should be noted that in Kauai County, the Real Prperty Assessment Section is seperate from the Collectons Section. All questions about tax bills should be directed to the department of Finance Collection Section.
