County Owned Rental Projects

 

            The County of Kauai built and owns two multifamily housing developments.  The first project is Paanau Village, a 60 unit apartment facility in Koloa that was completed and opened in February 1995.  The second project is Kalepa Village, also a 60 unit apartment facility in Hanamaulu.  It was completed and opened in February 1997.  Kalepa Village has room to expand and build another 120 units.  Both developments are operated through private property management firms.

 

Paanau Village features two bedroom units, solar hat water, two parking stalls per unit, and handicapped adaptability for all ground floor units.  Laundry facilities and a children’s playground are provided for exclusive use by the residents.  The current rental rate is $800 per month.  Qualified tenants may be eligible for various rental subsidy programs.  For more information contact the resident manager, Michael Moynihan at 742-8655.

 

Kalepa Village features one, two and three bedroom units at $625, $725 and $825 per month respectively.  Every unit has solar hat water, washer and gas dryer and two parking stalls.  There is a community center building and a keiki playlot for use by the residents.  The large open area provides for a variety of recreational activities.  Qualified tenants may be eligible for various rental subsidy programs.  For more information contact the resident manager, Lee Yasutake at 246-4481.
